"Congress to launch big campaign"

LUCKNOW: Congress on Sunday said it would launch an aggressive campaign for the next month’s Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh.

Union Minister for Science and Technology and Congress leader Kapil Sibal told reporters here that all senior leaders of the party would take active part in the election campaign.

When asked whether film stars would also campaign for the Congress, Sibal said there was no bar on them but it would depend on the candidates’ request.

Asked about Amitabh Bachchan’s campaigning for the Samajwadi Party, he said Bachchan was not a political figure and as such he would not like to comment on him.

Earlier in the day, Sibal chaired a meeting of UPCC media department.
