Samajwadi Party plans walkout

Monday 6 December 2004

By Our Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI, DEC. 5: Though it has not discussed with other like-minded political parties on how to raise the Babri Masjid issue in the Lok Sabha on Monday - 12th anniversary of the demolition of the mosque - the Samajwadi Party plans to stage a walkout even if other "secular parties" do not join them.

Talking to The Hindu , the SP leader, Ramji Lal Suman, said: "We will certainly raise the issue and at least stage a walkout even if others do not join us." Ever since the mosque was razed on December 6, 1992, proceedings in Parliament have been disrupted year after year with both sides trading charges.
