Kolkata, April 11: Close on the heels of the police case against him, on the basis of an FIR filed by the Election Commission (EC), State Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Subhas Chakrabarty suffered yet another setback today. In a severe snub, the State administration declared all the 316 booths in his Belgachia East constituency as ??sensitive’’.

??The police and security arrangements are being made keeping in mind that all the booths in this constituency are sensitive,’’ confirmed the returning officer, Sub-Divisional Officer of Bidhanagar Tapas Chowdhury.

Any booth is declared ??sensitive’’ on the basis of the guidelines sent by the EC. Chowdhury added that all the booths in Chakrabarty’s constituency fulfil those guidelines.

??Ten companies of central paramilitary forces will be provided to maintain law and order in the area on polling day,’’ informed Chowdhury. ??We have information that tension is brewing in the area,’’ he added.

Police sources too confirmed that all the booths in the area were declared sensitive as they fulfilled the criteria laid down by the EC. The guidelines take into consideration the history of the constituency - incidents of booth-capturing, violence, riots and largescale impersonation.
