HYDERABAD: The Congress Legislature Party (CLP) has accused the TDP of playing petty politics in blaming the Chief Minister, Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy, for the Medak incidents, as the latter had no role in it. The TDP president, N.Chandrababu Naidu, had embarked on a `diabolic game plan’ to stoke differences between the people of Telangana and others for political gain, the CLP said.

V.Vasanth Kumar and G.Babji, executive members of the CLP, and P.Viswaroop, MLA, said Mr.Naidu was ostensibly claiming that his tour was to console people reeling under drought, whereas he was using it to provoke the TRS at every step.

The Government had thrown a security net around Mr.Naidu with 185 policemen apart from the NSG cover, which even the Chief Minister did not have. As an Opposition leader, Dr.Reddy had only two plus two security cover and was not even provided with additional security during his marathon padayatra they said.
