MALAPPURAM: The Railway Minister, Lalu Prasad, will soon become a liability for the ruling United Progressive Alliance Government. Mr. Prasad’s party, the Rashtriya Janata Dal, had already become a liability for Bihar, the Bharatiya Janata Party president, L.K. Advani said here on Friday.

Inaugurating a State meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha at Kuttippuram this evening, Mr. Advani also said the Communist Party of India (Marxist) often barked at the UPA Government. "It will never bite," he added.

He said that concerns aired about minority communalism by organisations such as the Nair Service Society (NSS) and the Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana (SNDP) Yogam should be viewed seriously. "We cannot turn a blind eye to it," he said.

Mr. Advani exhorted the people of Kerala to "redeem" themselves from both the United and Left Democratic Fronts.

About the CPI(M)-Congress ties, he said that it was "dosti (friendship) in Delhi and gusti (fighting) in Kerala."

A rally of Yuva Morcha volunteers preceded the inaugural function.

The three-day conference will highlight `Kerala’s march from colonial terrorism to cultural nationalism.’

About 7,000 delegates from all panchayats in the State are taking part in the conclave beginning on Saturday morning.
