Thursday 8 July 2004

ITANAGAR, JULY 7. The imposition of President’s Rule was recommended in Arunachal Pradesh today after a day-long political drama. Sources in the Raj Bhavan said that a fax to this effect was sent to the Union Home Ministry under Article 356(C) of the Constitution.

The Congress and the defected BJP MLAs stormed into the Raj Bhavan and gheraoed the Governor V. C. Pandey, demanding that the latter either revoke his order of dissolving the House or impose President’s Rule. - UNI
