Apna Dal allotted 30 seats so far
NEW DELHI: Janata Dal (United) president Sharad Yadav and Bharatiya Janata Party president Rajnath Singh will together launch the National Democratic Party’s campaign in Uttar Pradesh from Jhansi district on Sunday.
On Saturday, the JD(U) released a list of 16 candidates. The party will contest 17 seats as part of its seat-sharing arrangement within the National Democratic Alliance. It is yet to finalise a candidate from Mishrikh in Sitapur district. The seat-sharing arrangement was finalised on Friday by Mr. Yadav and senior BJP leaders.
Of the 403 seats, the JD (U) will field its candidates in 17 seats — two up from the 2002 elections — as its share in the BJP-JD (U)-Apna Dal alliance.
