NEW DELHI: The Bharatiya Janata Party does not see any leadership qualities in Amethi MP Rahul Gandhi.
"In 30 months he has spoken three times in Parliament. He is yet to establish himself as an able parliamentarian," BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad said here on Thursday.
Mr. Prasad described as "comical farce" Railway Minister Lalu Prasad’s suggestion that the Congress should project Mr. Rahul Gandhi as chief ministerial candidate for Uttar Pradesh where polls are due early next year.
The Congress should clearly state that Mr. Gandhi is its future leader, regardless of his abilities, because what was important was his family name, Mr. Prasad said.
