LUCKNOW: The Uttar Pradesh Government on Monday reached an agreement with the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development, under which the lender would provide Rs.2,300 crore for strengthening the State’s district cooperative banks and societies. A Memorandum of Understanding in this regard was signed by the two sides in the presence of Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav. The money would be utilised for wiping out losses in the cooperative banks , NABARD Managing Director K G Karmakar said.- PTI
