LUCKNOW: The Congress on Tuesday rubbished the achievements of the three-year-old Mulayam Singh Yadav Government in Uttar Pradesh, saying that the achievements were actually those of the Central Government as all the welfare schemes were sponsored and funded by the UPA Government at the Centre.

The Congress said this fact had been ignored by the State Government which had set up several hoardings and banners proclaiming the three-year report card of the Government.

Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee president Salman Khurshid told reporters that privatisation of the kidnapping and murder industry had been the biggest achievement of the present regime over the past three years.

He said murder and loot were the order of the day in which Government agencies were also involved.

"The situation has come to such a pass that when policemen are killed by the notorious brigand Dadua, police officials are punished for the crime."

Mr. Khurshid said the achievements of the Government were directly related to Central schemes.

He said according to the data available from the Planning Commission, Rs. 57758 crore was given to the State Government for implementation of Central schemes in 2005-06.

Mr. Khurshid said it was unfortunate that the present Government had completed three years in office; "the sooner it goes the better".

Meanwhile, the list of UPCC office-bearers and executive committee was released by Mr. Khurshid.

The list was approved by party president Sonia Gandhi last night.

The new committee has 22 vice-presidents, 32 general secretaries, 101 secretaries and 101 executive committee members besides permanent invitees and special invitees.
