AYODHYA, JAN. 8. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) today launched `Ram Mahotsav’ programme under which the idols of Lord Ram would be installed in six lakh villages across the country.
Announcing this at a press conference here, the VHP leader, Ashok Singhal, said the `Mahotsav’ was aimed at arousing consciousness among Hindus about their religious rights.
"The VHP plans to popularise this programme in all parts of the country, and there is no political aim behind this religious programme," he said.
